Jesus of Nazareth, Who became God’s Messiah and the Savior of all mankind, stated in no uncertain terms exactly why He came to earth: “I have come to do thy will, O Lord.” As a result of His total commitment to fulfilling the Father’s will, the Son was the perfect vessel to be used in fulfilling that will. Because of His total selflessness, everything Jesus said, did or thought came directly from God to Him through the Holy Spirit. Even the Words He spoke were given to Him by His Father. Jesus said that He could do nothing on His own power because He had no power of His own. When He referred to Himself relative to the performing of an act or the speaking of words He was referring to Himself as a conduit between God in heaven and those who heard or saw Him (Jesus) acting or speaking on earth.
Jesus was the perfect vessel to be used by the Father because He was totally dead to self. He had a human will like all other men, but His Words: “Not My will but Thine be done” shows that He counted His will as nothing. Being like all other human beings, whatever good He did He attributed to His Father. At one point a man called him “good.” Jesus corrected Him, saying that there was only One who could legitimately be called “good”–God in Heaven. Today we find puny man calling himself “reverend,” meaning worthy of reverence. Let it be known that while Jesus was on earth as a man there was only one Being in the universe who bore the title “reverend,” that being God.
In that Jesus has returned to the Father and has reassumed His role as God, and in that He is still a man, He exists today and forever as both a God and a man–a God-man. To those who are shocked at my referring to the resurrected Christ as a man, I refer to 1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, THE MAN Jesus Christ.” God’s true human saints will one day join His Son as God-men in His kingdom. Because true saints will retain their human appearance so that they will know each other in the kingdom as they were known in this earthly life–1 Cor. 13:12; 15:35-58–they will also be God-men in the kingdom, ruling and reigning alongside their elder Brother. But we all must understand that the future title of God-man is reserved for the “few” who will “strive” to enter His strait (difficult) gate and walk his narrow (restrictive) path that leads to His kingdom (Mat. 7:13,14). Those who enter and walk will be the Lord’s Very Elect who have lived their post-conversion lives in strict obedience to His Word. They will have endured the hatred of the world, including the church world, for doing so. These, and only these, Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:20, will be saved upon His return.
This brings up two questions: 1) What are God’s gate and path? 2) What must one do to enter that singular gate and follow that singular path? Without this information no one can enter His gate and walk His path. The strait gate is God’s true church. The fact that one must “strive” to enter it tells us that there is powerful resistance against anyone attempting to do so. This Scriptural Truth alone destroys the “walk the isle + perform the ritual = instant salvation formula that Satan has foisted upon religious man for almost 2000 years. Do you know the whereabouts of a unit of God’s true church? I dare say the answer is “no.” Let us recall that after three and one-half years of personal ministry to tens of thousands, only a few true believers were to be found. These precious souls were hated and despised, some to the point of martyrdom. Nothing has changed.
Because I have, through over 1000 postings and many YouTube messages, repeatedly brought forth the Scriptural Truth concerning both the gate and the path, I will answer the questions in one final statement. This Truth has come to me from the Lord after much prayer and Bible study over many years. Simply put, to enter His gate and walk His path is to count as nothing everything the world has to offer. Relatively speaking, family, friends, possessions, fame, fortune, status, self–all must be viewed as dung when compared to walking in holiness with the Lord in total agreement with Him. No joy gained from anything or everything else can compare to knowing that one is at one with Him. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. Not even life itself. He as assured us that if we will worship and serve Him in holiness, if we will make Him, not the focus of our life, but our very life itself, if we will focus our thoughts, words and action on Him and Him alone, He will take care of everything else. This Truth is not an option if one is to spend eternity with Him in paradise. Only this heart-set and walk will enable one to enter His presence upon the return of His Son. Church life as it is known globally–“Come as you are; stay as you are”–is a ruse, a Satanic counterfeit of the God-commanded Christian walk. We must, as the Apostle John tells us, “walk as He (Jesus) walked” while on this earth (1 Jn. 2:6). This explains why “few” will make the cut. L.J.
